Anything else I can check for Cruise problem?

On my 97 the cruse quit working. The "Cruse" Light comes on on the dash. I read to check my 3rd tail light. I checked it and it was out. I was so happy!
I put a new one in, hoping it would fix the problem. The light works, but it didn't fix the cruse.
Is there anything else I can check to find out what the problem is?
Thank you,
Chris.

Re: Anything else I can check for Cruse problem?

I have a '99 Lesabre and the problem you described happened to my car way back when the car was still under warranty. Cruise light came on, but cruise control did not work. Took it to the dealership since the car was still under warranty and they told me that the cable that goes from the cruise control module to the throttle body was broken and that they replaced the cable. If you take off the injector shield and look at the throttle body, there are two cables attached to it. One cable goes back through the firewall to the accelerator pedal, the other cable (which was broken on my car) goes back to the cruise control module which is mounted on the driver side firewall. Good luck.
