Chrome Strip around Windshield

on a 1987 Caprice Classic.
whats the best way to remove these without breaking them?

They are held on with plastic clips which if original, won't give you much resistance from breaking them. What I do is wedge something strong and thin such as a knife between the trim and the side A pillar and deflect the trim toward the inside of the windshield. The plastic snaps - don't worry, it'd break anyway and replacements can be had at Autozone for little money. Once you get one section off, you can pull on the others and they'll come off. Do this with care.

i managed to ge them off with a butter knife, really easy actually.
