Thumbs up Tranny Leak, Speed Sensor

92 C1500, 350 with 700R4 - I've been dealing with a tranny leak for some time now and the wife has been getting on my case about oil in the driveway. I worried it was going to need a tranny seal job so I haven't messed with it. It's been leaking out the tail shaft so I replaced the rear shaft seal but that wasnt' the problem.

I took it on a trip to Dallas last weekend and it really started leaking when I got back home so I began looking. The speed sensor out the side was covered in fluid, really just soaking wet. I pulled the electrical connection and oil began flowing from inside the connection terminal. Went to the store and bought the speed sensor for under 40 bucks and it was real easy swap. The only issue was when the I pulled the old one the fluid would run faster out the hole until I got the new one in place. Figured that would happen so I had the drain bucket in place.

Now, no more leaking, and running good. Checked the fluid level and topped it half a quart, and all is good now. Just to let you old timer 700R4 owners now about this one.

Happy Trails...
