,05 2.5S reliability=???

i,m thinking to buy a 2005 2.5S from a friend. it has 170,000 commuter miles. oil always changed on time. he does have a heavy foot with the gas pedal. he has never had any problems with the car. tranny shifts smooth,etc. tires and battery recently replaced. what would you pay for this car if you wanted to buy it?? and what to expect? thanks for any advice. money is tight and getting tighter.
