Question rear end

what rear end/gear system comes in a 1994 crown vic and will an intercepter of the same year's driveshaft hook up to it?

8.8 and yes the alloy shaft will hook up from the same year.

His, 96 Limited, 5.2 Magnum, Magnaflow CatBack System, HID Head & Fog Lamps, 242 T-case swapped , Rear Trac-Loc. Chrome grill added to match the wheels.

To add, I believe the gear ratio is 3:23. If not is is real close to thar number.

Not sure about the aero vic's but I know some of the whales like mine (98') have a 2.73 rear end in it

not sure about aeros, but 98+ usually come with 3.27s or 3.55s. 95-97 MY might also. Not too sure about earlier years though.

In the crown vic aeros, 2.73 is the standard rear axle ratio on crown vics with 3.27 available in the handling package, except for i believe the 01's which had 3.55's. I think the rear axle is 3.07 on panther chassis vehicles with the AOD. The rear axle gear was lowered with the 4r70w since they have a higher first gear ratio.

To find out more information about your axle, there is a tag on the axle that lists axle size, gear ratio, number of splines along with if the factory diff is limited slip or not.
