A question

A friend of mine has a 95 escort wagon lx.
he wants to turbo it, but I really don't know that much about ford so hopefully you guys can help me out.
what is the name of the engine in the escort? The name of my maxima's engine is called the VG30E(this is an example).
what is the name of the engine and where can I find a site with a turbo for that engine that is if they make turbo's for that engine.

I am guessing that it has the 1.9, your best bet would be to find an EXP and take the turbo parts off of that.

It is a 1.9. Thier is no turbo kit, so find an EXP with one, or build a custom.

a local friend run's 12 psi on an otherwise stock engine (only the injectors have been changed to protect the engine)ohh yeah ,forgot 2 .015 copper gasket spacers where used with the head gasket to get the compresion down to 8.5-1,the cost of milling and rebalancing the pistions was to high, considering the inherent weakness of the factory pistons ,also milling would only serve to make them weaker at the dish

to top that ,2 passes where made with the boost controller set to blow at 15 psi and could not detect knock(on 98 pump gas with one can of super 104 octane improver)
he is using a converted apexi SAFC and MSD dis4 ignitionw/boost retard
BUT THE ENGINE IS STOCK(sort of)

I plan on running mine on 5psi until I get some new cams and valves. Then maybe 12psi.

I think I'll try mine at 7psi, depends on if I use a 2.0 head or not,
If the 2.0 head on the 1.9 block lowers the C/R like every one says.
Will you be using a IC?
What will you use for fuel managment?

Yes, I think. If I can get a small cheap one.

Don't know, haven't thought about that one yet. What would you recommend?? I think you can run 7 psi with a stock block.

Like I'v said before, Geoff is a really nice guy and knows what he talking about, but I have seen some very poor machine work come from his shop, he does make a Escort Supercharger kit for the 1.9 and 2.0, it uses a Eaton M62 blower, but same thing here, you'll spend 3 grand on his kit, than have to take it to a nother shop to clean it up to make it usable
