1982 300SD Climate Control problems

i have a 1982 300SD... The only way i can get the blower to work is to push the defrost button, which then it only blows high, no matter which speed is chosen... I took out the motor and tested it with a car battery and it worked great, so i think that it is the climate control itself... I am unsure on how to get the control out to do fusther testing or to replace? What do you think??? THANK YOU!

Most probably is your push button. If you have absolutely nothing happening when pushing down other that the defrost then its the push button. If it was the resistance they would work, but just on one speed. If you need one let me know,I should have a couple.

Good luck

thanks for your reply! i drove it the other day and was able to get the bi-level to work only if i push the button and set the fan on high and wait a few minutes then it kicks on for a few minutes then shuts off again... This is becoming very frustrating!

I don't want to get your hopes down but a car that old will have these type of problems. Not to mention it would be extremely difficult to find and replace parts. Just as in my case with my 7 series.
