Car not starting...

I tried searching and couldn't find anything on this. I installed a 3sx high capacity radiator last night and put a new thermostat in this morning. Now the car wont even crank. The car drove fine last night when I came home from work. I also made sure that I plugged the MAS back in so I don't think that is it.

So I'm not sure if I'm forgetting something else or what. When I turn the key to the on position I can hear the fuel pump so I know I am getting fuel. What's weird is after trying to start it I hear a weird buzzing sound about a minute after. It almost sounds like it might be my starter maybe. Is it possible my starter just randomly decided to die on me like that?

Oh and the car is a 95 VR-4. Thanks for the help.

Re: Car not starting...

Do you mean it's not even turning over? That means you have no spark, so check your spark source.

(not your battery, because your fuel pump gets power)

PTU
Coil Packs
Spark Plug Wires

It could also be your starter switch. Sometimes my car makes a little "tink" sound, and takes about 7 tries until I get it to fire up. -Search "Click Start Fix"

Your clutch pedal may need adjusting, so you'll get power. Probably not, but we'll throw that in just in case.

Your starter needs help.

Check and make sure your Crank Angle Sensor is plugged in. I don't know if it will turn over or not being unplugged.

Lastly, it may be as simple as a fuse. Check all the fuses necessary to run the motor. Inside the cabin, there is a 15A engine fuse.

Hope that helps. Good luck.

First off the fuel pump doesnt even run just with the key in the on position. It only runs when you are cranking the car and once its started. You werent hearing the fuel pump.

Second is the car even cranking?

Its probably a relay you hear buzzing.

Re: Car not starting...

Thanks guys I figured it out it was just a plug that I overlooked, I guess I unhooked it without even noticing.

Re: Car not starting...

Just having it in the start position will not let the pump run either. It ONLY gets power upon cranking and once the car has started. Trust me on this one as I battled a fuel pump issue in the past.

Re: Car not starting...

Your car wouldn't run due to one plug???

I have seen a VR-4 run *very poorly* on three cylinders.

It wasn't to a spark plug it was just a wire near the MAS. Car wouldn't even crank though.
