1st post, few questions

UK - corolla 1.3 4e-fe (1993)

Dear Sirs

I was wondering if someone could be generous in sharing there knowledge and time:

1) my local mechanic told me that my loose exhaust manifold is not a serious probem?

2) my front left wheel is making alot of noise, possibly the bearing, can this cause breaking problems?

3) when I put my headlights on it seems that I cannot see the road (lights are on) properly, has the internal gas gone on my 15yr old headlight bulbs?
any other suggestions

THANK YOU very much!!

loose exhaust manifold IS a problem...unless he was talking about the shrould that goes around the manifold. the loose manifold would allow air/O2 to enter the exhaust stream and cause the car to run rich...poor fuel economy.

eventually the bearing will ive or sieze..so get it fixed. It is a matter of safty.

It may be the bulb...they are cheap so give it a try. also make sure you have working voltage at the sockets.
THANK YOU very much!!
hope that helped

2002Corolla:

You replied by stating I should try changing my headlight bulbs, ok...

I rotated the circular disc around the headlight... ok
removed the rubber gasket.... ok
unhooked the cable.... ok

Now I see the bulb inside it is held in place by some sort of spring, do I rotate the bulb or something?

Cheers

Re: 1st post, few questions

the connector wire should pull out of the back of the bulb as you hold out on the lock. the ring holds the bulb in turn it until it moves back.pull the bulb out.do not touch the new bulb with your fingers when you push it in .put the grey lock ring on and turn it to lock it.push the connector on the back of the bulb until it locks .a bad wheel bearing on the front will make the wheel wobble and grab.as for the loose exhaust manifold see if the bolts will tighten up.just don't break one off.
