2001 Alero

My Alero just stopped on me on the highway- pumped the gas and nothing happened...just slowed down and came to a stop. AAA truck came and tried to jump it but it wouldn't start. He ran a battery test and said it showed I needed a new battery. Had it towed to VIP where they ran a diagnostic and said I needed a new fuel pump. $500 later I have it and it runs but now it idles really loudly and rumbles alot and the air bag light keeps coming on and off. I am afraid to drive it now- afraid the VIP guys did something wrong and that it is dangerous! Please help me, I have a six year in the car most of the time! Thank you!

For starters some of the auto parts stores like Autozone will check for any DTC's that are set in the car for free. That will give you an idea of the general area of your problem. It might be a control module. If you have access to a scan tool (or go to Autozone) and get the codes I can look them up for you if you don't know what they are.
