Rear Passenger window

I have a 2000 GP and am having problems with the rear passenger window. I've done some research on the site here and can't find where anyone has had this issue before. Basically, the window free travels down on its own. I can hear the motor operate for just a short, but the window doesn't move up or down unless I manually move it. I can move it quite easily. I suspect that it has broken loose from the connections somehow. Before I get in there to find out, can any one tell me if those connections to the window are the cable kind or if the window is somehow bolted to a lifting mechanism. I will be checking the motor once I get it apart, but I need an idea on what I may be facing. Thanks for the help.

I am going to guess the motor is going bad. Also I am pretty sure the window is held on the track with some sort of plastic clips

I just had my rear pass door panel off my 00 gtp. It is cable operated and the lifting mechanism is attached to the bottom of the window with a couple bolts through a plastic fastener. My window didn't work but the motor was frozen. Good luck on your project.

Thanks for the answers. I'm betting its the plastic connector as I can hear the motor working. But I won't know until I get in there and have a look around. Thanks again.

Ok, I've got the motor out and it runs fine, but I did find out that the wires are shot. My question is, how do I get the wires out to replace them. I've separated the gear housing from the motor and can see where one of the wires come off of the gear. Do I pull the gear out and unwind the wires? How do I disconnect the wires from the bottom of the window center guide? Thanks in advance.

I have had mine out twice, but do not remember what it looks like. Can you post some pics?

My front one went out twice so the second time I added some grease to the end shaft of the motor and it have been working great since then.

Thanks for the response. I did some research online and after talking to the dealer, I went to Ebay and that's where I learned that the "regulator" for the window is the wire and metal lifting system. I did not realize that it was all one unit. The dealer quoted me $447 dollars for the regulator with motor. I found a new one at Ebay for $47.95 plus shipping. Either I was not hearing correctly or the dealer was charging 1000% markup on the unit. Either way, it looks like it is very straight forward. If I get some time while I am replacing this unit, I may take some photos as I am going and write up how to replace the regulator w/motor so that others will have something to work from. Appreciate the help. Thanks all.
