repair shop gas thieves

I knew it was gonna happen.... I just got a report from a friend that when he got his vehicle serviced it had a full tank of gas... when he picked it up it was on empty...

Make sure that you do not give the repair shop the gas cap keys....

Also remove your license plates that way they can't use it to go on errands etc.....

heck my repair shop a Chevy dealer uses the trucks there going to work on for delivery's. thay even do it when your looking. thay got upset when thay told me i wanted my truck back when thay were going to paint it. there misstake thay use the wrong lealer on the door gaskets and it took off the paint. there shop ride was a death trap. it would get hung up on the road on the way to work. i took it back with mud all over it. told them i needed a truck it did not need to be 4 wheel drive. thay asked about the mud, i told them well you see i drive down dirt/ gravle roads to get to work. with ruts. you can have the bills for getting the car unstuck. thay never said a nother word.

Re: repair shop gas thieves

It sounds like you guys both need to find new places to service your trucks. The only time the dealer saw my truck was for a recall and they forgot to tighten the hubcap nuts so I almost lost 2 of them. My usual shop goes out of their way to do the right thing and the extremely rare occasions I've had an issue they dropped everything else to fix it. I guess I'm really lucky.

LOL! oh geez ... this sorta happend to me a while ago, I had a 97 ford ranger, took it in to have rear differental fluids checked/changed, the shop owner told me that he had to drain the gas tank to get to the diff. and that I needed to bring a can of gas with me, had over 3/4 tank when i took it there!!! at the time, I actually fell for it...the shop owner was a close family "friend" and I would of never thought he would be capable of doing us like that.. boy I sure was wrong!!

Re: repair shop gas thieves

chevy / gmc has been closing down all the small dealers around here. unless you head out to the mega dealers your not going to get any thing fixed. as i have found i can beat any dealer on fixing the truck. if the computer does not show its a quick easy fix thay do not want to tuch it.

what i like is ppl find out real quick not to steal "gas" from me. its happend a few times. every time i find the guys down the street, cussing up a storm. thay end up with my fuel can for the heator or for the dieasle genarator. the guy at the end of the block calls me and the cops. when the cops get there were having a ball, empty can, thiefs car will not run and i tell the cops to jus have him replace the fuel. it never hapens the person is all ways broke. after thay pay the tow bill and get there tank drained it cost them big time.
