has anyone experienced this???

i have a 1997 park ave ultra,,the battery died this weekend and i had to get it jumped off,, i had the battery check and it is bad,,,my problem is while trying to crank the car while jumping it off the gas needle and the temp needle spent around backwards and are now under the little stop needle that the needle is suppose to rest on,,, every else on the instrumental panel works...when i crank the car up the needles will move up to the the stop neddle,, how can i get them back to the right side of the stop needle?? i went to the dealer he stated i would have to go in mannualy and spend the needles by hand,,,if so are there instructions on how to remove the cluster,,espically the plastic cover,,does it come off??? any advice woule be appreciated. thanks.

Re: has anyone experienced this???

1165 lots of problems like this on the board. Some have suggested using a magnet to pull the needle back around, might want to use a cloth between the lens and the magnet. Others have done as I did and drill a #50 hole thru the plexiglass lens and use a paperclip to move the needle back. Once you get it back counterclockwise past full it will read correctly. You will not be able to see a hole that small unless you know where to look. Good luck
