2000 Bonneville-A/C blows only on one side

My 2000 Bonneville only blows cold air on one side (passenger) warm air blows on driver side. I have Electronic Climate Control. Can someone help?

Man, I can't believe no one responded to this one.

For warm air driver's side and cold air passenger side first thing to check is for a low refrigerant level. So check the R134 charge at the low side service port and make sure it is in specs based on the ambient temperature and humidity of your area.

I agree- very typical

Very typical low charge scenario- your system has leaked out more than half the specified refrigerant amount- the evap entrance cools first- which just happens to be the portion that feeds the passenger side- the exit feeds the driver's side- find and fix your leak and evacuate and recharge to factory spec-- number one leak location is compressor shaft seal followed closely by compressor belly (case halves) leaks.

Re: 2000 Bonneville-A/C blows only on one side

Thanks for the input on my problem. One thing I did not mention in my previous thread. I have dual zones in this car. Does this change anything you told me in your reply to me? I've heard that it could also be the diverter door/s and this is an expensive fix. Is this true? thanks again for any replies.

Re: 2000 Bonneville-A/C blows only on one side

I've seen a couple of temp door problems- but they are usually just the rods come unhooked- pull down your glove box- all the way, and have a quick look- there will be a rod on top and a rod on bottom of HVAC unit- run temp control to full hot and to full cold- watch temp doors move- look for binds, jerks, and make sure rods are fully attached.&

Re: 2000 Bonneville-A/C blows only on one side

The vent/blend doors in the HVAC assembly are actually controlled by temperature actuators (motors) that move as you adjust temperature, of course driver and passenger sides are independent. They can cause a similar issue. Regardless of whether you have dual or single zone check the refrigerant charge first and for any leaks since it is easier. The temperature actuators are harder to get to and located in the dashboard. Replacement is not fun either.
