Sliding Door Jammed

I just bought a 2003 chevy venture and the passanger side sliding door is jammed.....i can move the top, back, and bottom of the door.....im guessing something is bent on the latch or something else.....how do you take off the door skin or solve this problem.....the only fix i have right now is to slide in a saw-zall blade and cut off the latch and try to fix from there.....thanks for any info

this is not a pwr sliding door.

Re: Sliding Door Jammed

The inside door skin is held in by plastic push-in type hold buttons. You should be able to simply pry off the skin and get to the interanl workings from there. Other than this I can't help you much with your problem. LEt us know what you find.

Re: Sliding Door Jammed

i ended up saw-zawing the bracket off through the inside of the van....i didnt take off the door skirt....still would open....took a pry bar and went around the door gently and on the bottom it popped out and opened.....the bracket on the bottom off the door was loose....tightened up the bolts to match the other door.....works good as new...besides needing a new latch for the door.....problem solved.
