2002 Cav. driver seat...replacement?

I've noticed that the back of my driver seat has been bent back a little and it's like I'm driving a lowrider and I'm not liking it much. I think it's from people using the headrest to get in and pulling themselves forward to get out.

My first question is this: How much does a seat go for(don't know if I'll have to get a set so the newer drivers will match the passengers)? A used one that is in really good shape will do. You know, that has a strong back.

Secondly: Are there any seats from other cars that will fit inside my Cav.? That you guys know of. That are more comfortable, etc...?

Thanks.

Sunfire, sunbird, seats will fit right in.

Anything else will require a little fabrication. Seats are usually pretty cheap at a pick n pull.

Re: 2002 Cav. driver seat...replacement?

Good to know. I know a few people at some yards and a friends uncle owns another. The thing is I don't have time to call. I get home from work and they're closed. I guess I'll give a call during the day sometime.

That was kind of a given about the seats...I should of figured those types would. Haha.

I wasn't sure if anything from newer cars or any other makes would. Just checking to see if higher end cars or imports would or even newer year cars might fit(I ask because my brother picked up a new G6 and those seats were pretty comfortable). Do you know any of those that would?

I'll stick with Cav. or the ones you mentioned but figured I'd see if anything else can fit.

Re: 2002 Cav. driver seat...replacement?

Honestly I have no idea. Most the interior swaps I have seen have required fabrication to the seat brackets to get them to fit. I've seen SRT-4, Grand prix, RSX, Type -S and STi seats in j-bodies.

There are also after market seats in which have brackets you can buy for them which are direct bolt on.

Tenzo-R
Corbeau
Sparco
Recaro

are 4 companies in which have pre-made brackets. But youre looking at much dinero for those seats.

I had a set of Dynamic auto Design (D.A.D) seats and 4 out of the 4 on the driver side all lined up with the stock holes, and 3 out of 4 on the passenger side lined up. I made a tab out of metal for that odd ball hole.

Cool. Thanks for the info. I'll keep you updated.

I thought about the after market seats, but like you said, a lot of extra cash I'd rather spend on other stuff right now.

Re: 2002 Cav. driver seat...replacement?

One thing you may want to look at is seats from a Beretta/Corsica (similar car, so worth at least measuring to see). Not sure about previous years, but '96 had a driver side recliner... VERY comfortable on long trips - I once drove 1,020 miles non-stop (except 10 minutes at a time for gas) and at the end I wasn't even sore. '89 Corsicas also had the driver recliner, so there's a good chance all the Beretta/Corsicas had it. The '96 Z26 Beretta had a reclining passenger side seat as well.
