Re: 97,cavalier wont start

ight listen this has to be it i have a couple different problems it may be... loose connection with your ignition coil... not enough fuel going to the injectors may need new ones.... vacuum leak between the manifold and the throttel body..... engine controll system could be screwed up.... or ur intake mite be leaking so it could cause a vacuum line to break try an check all of these get like a manaul or just do wut the other guy told u take it to a dealer an have them check all of these

Re: 97,cavalier wont start

Which engine does it have?
Check for codes, especially the theft system. Also make sure the IAT, ECT sensors read close to the actual temp. You could also just unplug them and see if it runs, sometimes they will, sometimes they won't. Check the MAP sensor and hose.
Did you actually check fuel pressure or just see "lots of gas"? Put a pressure guage on it and try to start it, If the pressure drops once it starts the pump is bad. That's very common on GMs.

Re: 97,cavalier wont start

Ignition wiring harness did this to me. It slowly failed to start. Had no idea until my son the mechanic said it could be the wires. Changed wiring harness and all is fine now.
