02 grand prix rear spring to tire clearance
does anyone no how much clearance you should have between the rear tires and the bottom of the spring housing. i'm getting a rubbing or scraping noise when i turn right with the car . i think the top of the tire might be hitting the spring housing on the right side .i'm wondering if its time for strut and spring replacement. car has 88,000 miles . thanks for any input

Re: 02 grand prix rear spring to tire clearance
The housing is stationary and is mounted to the hub, so there will be no issues there. The springs will effect ride height. If your fender clearance is minimal the you may get some rubbing there. Also check your rear sway bar, bushings and links. What you could do is use a tape measure and measure from the ground to your fender. this will get you the ride height. compare it to the other side(in the same exact location) and see if they are even.
