Anyone know where is the lock-up solenoid on 98 Jetta?
My 98 Jetta Wolfsburg engine stalls while comes to a stop. And it shows a code "04A8", which I found out is the "Torque Convertor Lock-up Clutch failure".
I want to try to disable the lock-up clutch by disconnect the solenoid, but I don't know where does it locate and can not find the wires for the solenoid. Could anyone please help? Thanks a lot! |

if you unplug the solenoid the car will not move.
Its in the valve body you need to remove the pan and filter to get to it. |

Thank you veedubmechanic!
But I thought the lock-up clutch should only work on 4th gear, on lower gears it's not working anyway... Maybe I was wrong. |
