Re: Buying 1998 WindStar Suspensions
If you are talking about shocks, my first choice is Monroe Sensitrack. However, I think there are struts on the front. I'm getting close to 300,000 km on mine and the struts appear fine. The shocks on the rear are original and seem fine too. No evidence of leakage. I normally replace based on mileage and evidence of leakage.

Re: Buying 1998 WindStar Suspensions
I have Monroe Sensa Trak all the way around.
I highly recommend that one buy the "Quick Strut" which includes new springs, upper mount & bearing and spring isolators. When removing the struts, there is a very good chance that you will damage the sway bar links.......so I would just get a pair of new ones and plan on installing new ones. It would be a VERY good idea to have the front suspension gone over by a qualified mechanic....so that you will be advised of any components that are wearing out. This should be done each year......or maybe 2 years if the vehicle is not driven much. The link in my signature takes you to pictures of my '96 windstar.....and I have some pictures in there that show the front suspension.....with the various components labeled.
