stabilizer link

Could someone explain what a stabilizer link (2001 Dodge Caravan SE) looks like? Someone told me my van needs one but I though such a link looked different than what I need. Is it roughly a foot long with a ball (more or less) on the ebottom end????

If you look behind your front tires you will see them, they attach to the end of your stabilizer bar and then up on your strut. Here is a link to a picture of one, yes basically about a foot long with a ball and nut on each end:
