i have a '96 tahoe 5.7L that stopped running suddenly. i found a bad ignition coil ,replaced it and the ignition module. the distributor parts & plug wires are all in good shape ,plugs are bosch platinum +4. now the truck will not start & i have a trouble code 1351, all underhood engine wiring & connectors are in good condition, i can't find a problem with it .engine is getting fuel , fuel pump is running , fuel pressure is ok (60-65psi)
..any suggestions on cause of ignition high voltage code, something i missed ? thanks , exwldr

Re: 96 tahoe will not start
Pitch the bosch plugs in the trash can and get a good set of AC-delco plugs,
On the code 1351 it can be caused by wiring or plugin or module or even VCM computer. You need to get the repair flow chart for that code and go threw it. Factory repair manual or a All data online sub. http://www.alldata.com/products/diy/index.html

Re: 96 tahoe will not start
Shodid...check and see if you have fire coming out of ur distributor cap...my truck did the same thing... it even gave me a warning by sputering..like my tranny was going out!! I know people dont like to do this, but take off one plug wire and hold it with some pliers close to the plug and get someone to turn the truck over...if no shock.. u need to replace ur distributor cap!!

Re: 96 tahoe will not start
hi, thanks for all your ideas. i downloaded wiring schematics and system flow charts from alldata.com. and after spending several hours today with a digital ohm, volt meter i was able to find , several wiring ground problems .1 was at the wiring body ground near the battery. the other was was the 2 ground wires at the engine thermostat stud . luckily the computer is undamaged .after clearing fuel out of the cylinders ,she started right up. runs smooth as silk. starts up on the first crank ..good as new..not too shabby for a 82,000 mile creampuff ..it turns out the coil did not blow out the ignition module , so at least i can save $75.00 there.. thanks again all.....exwldr....
