air intake code rough idle

Good Day All,

I have a 2004 Mercury Monterey mini-van which just had its splines replaced. While at the transmission shop and while under diagnostics, the following error code was encountered:

air intake code - rough idle

The transmission company didn't know what the error was and couldn't help further - anybody have any ideas? Is it a potentially serious or something I can live with? With the recent outlay of cash for the splines, I shudder to think I might be looking at another huge expense. Thanks for any insight and assistance.

Jeff

Re: air intake code rough idle

I would check all hoses are connected. Clean the idle air control valve and the Mass air flow meter. By cleaner at the parts store. This won't break the bank and could clean up your codes.

Thanks rhandwor! I will take a look at all the connections and check for damage or tears too.
