Gearbox R&R
Can the gearbox be removed and replaced by removing the tunnel housing and going the inside of the car with out removing the engine?
We had a gearbox that suddenly had a nickel size hole in the side! I will let you know what happpened, complete with pics, once we get it out. Thanks James wirewheel |

can't you just remove the 4 bolts that connect the gearbox to the bellhousing, disconnect the UV joint and the tranny mounts and pull it out that way? The actual gearbox should just pull out and drop down.???

The trans will not pull far enough back to get the input shaft clear of the bell housing. There's 4 bolts to remove the tunnel. Remove it.

interesting, and good to know! I wasnt aware that it was that easy to pull the tunnel.
