Cavalier Performance Goods!

Alright.. I'm looking up for my buddy while he's in basic some performance stuff for his car. I believe it's a 95 Cavalier with a 2.2L SOHC (might be DOHC). But he wants it to go fast (and it has a bend valve)! So I was looking around for different ways to go about peping this bad boy up. I saw the 2.4L QUAD 4 ENGINE as and option for a swap. What all would I need to complete the Z24/Quad 4 swap? I'm guessing mounts, wiring and ECU? Or will these things interchange from his old 2.2L? What about Tranny? Also what type of turbo would I be looking at for this engine?

Or would it just be better to go over the current engine and throw a turbo at it? And again what turbo would be best to throw on this one?

Thanks in advance for any help

Re: Cavalier Performance Goods!

The quad4 or 2.4dohc is not made to be a speed demon they like to break timing chains and warp valves not good for the horsepower and you will need alot of time to swap

Re: Cavalier Performance Goods!

Ahh... ok.. So what about Turboing the 2.2L then?? I guess I'll just look for performance parts and setup for turbo then.. Thx for saving me from a troublesome engine :-)

Re: Cavalier Performance Goods!

Swap in an 2.2L Ecotec found in the newer Cavaliers and build that up.
