1995 Gulf GTR's

According to the livery list the 3 1995 Gulf GTR's were chassis no's #02R, #04R & #08R.
We also know that #04R is supposedly destroyed, though one scource claims that although not rebuilt it's remains still exist somewhere.

So do we know the whereabouts of #02R and #08R?

Cheers.

Re: 1995 Gulf GTR's

02R - is rumored to be still somewhere in the UK

08R - is now road registered and owned by Salman bin Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa (Crown Prince of Bahrain)

04R - I don't think that it is destroyed as it was used (according to some sources) to replace the crashed 14R in the last round of the 1996 JGTC at Mine

Re: 1995 Gulf GTR's

#02R isn't listed as having a known-to-us location in my 'Location of GTR's - Index' thread apart from being somewhere in the UK, but we believe -

#08R - now road registered; owned by Salman bin Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince of Bahrain ( Erik); in Papaya orange

Re: 1995 Gulf GTR's

I contacted someone about #02R when this image surfaced a couple of years ago:

They replied to my inquiry with a future promise of information that was never received and I don't believe I ever followed up on it again. I will have to dig around and see if I can find that exchange and try once again.

Re: 1995 Gulf GTR's

Yeah, but you used to be sure the Barazi F1 was #049 and also used to tell us there were no black LMs too.

Actually, that would make for a pretty funny thread - to go back through the forum and find all the things that were incorrect over the years.

In my column there have been more than a few. The one that sticks out the most was my long-running assumption that #038 was really #075. Oops...

I think we have gotten better at this - at least I know I try to make it clear when something is speculation versus known fact these days. Hopefully the rest of you try to do the same.

I was told Barazi's F1 was a 1996 car by the guy that was selling it. I took his word for it. I'd hardly say I was wrong about it.

Info on 02R came first hand from someone who saw the car in storage. Unless there's another blue GTR with yellow wheels we don't know about...

Re: 1995 Gulf GTR's

02R :- Chris is correct on this.

04R :- I know where it is, but I am not at liberty to tell anyone. Sorry.

08R :- As above. But I will add, that it was used to replace 14R in Japan.

None are in their original livery, shame.

Mr Barazi,s F1 has had an interior refit, if I am not mistaken.

No one here is perfect, including me. Heck - I had to correct myself in a thread just yesterday.

Le Man - Barazi's F1 certainly had an exterior refit as it was originally blue. No knowledge here on whether that is the original interior in the car.

Re: 1995 Gulf GTR's

^^Looks like it had a int/refit in the last pics posted at the polo match.

The lighting may be deceptive as the car is in the shade.

Nope, still has red seat inserts and a blue dash / interior

Hiding in your own garage, isn't it?

Any idea what it looks like as far as paint color or livery are concerned? I'll assume it was repaired at some point, but perhaps you can't address that question?

Re: 1995 Gulf GTR's

I am so pleased that someone else can confirm that #04R is instorage somewhere, it confirms what I was told earlier this year but again the person who told me can not divulge it's whereabouts. I'm just happy that it still exists.

Can you confirm whether it was still in a state of disrepair or as it been reassembled?
