Want to upgrade to aftermarket bulbs

I want to upgrade my headlights and fog lights with after market bulbs. Does anyone have any insight on which throws the most light for both applications? I am looking for the brightest 9007 and 880. I can tell you that in my Blazer I had the Silver Stars at one point and was not very impressed. Will also consider upgrading to HID if anyone has a working unit that they trust. Any pics would be awesome! Thanks in advance!

Re: Want to upgrade to aftermarket bulbs

I use the siler stars as of now, I know they do have another model bulb thats supposed to be brighter havnt seen those tho.

HIDs or sometimes more trouble then they are worth IMO.
Some local laws dont allow them anyways, and they can melt the cheap plastic head light housings, I've seen this just from Silver Stars.

I hav been trying to find a yellow or amber 880 for my fogs, but thiers none! Well with out cutting the factory plug off or jerry riggin it.

Also are your headlight housings all foggy looking ?

Re: Want to upgrade to aftermarket bulbs

I have seen many after market companies make yellow 880's. You should be able to find some but you will more the likely have to order on line.

My lenses are almost clear maybe a little haze to them, can't complain really they are 6 years old.

They make new ultra silver stars and I am tempted but still shy about making the purchase. It is strange how almost all auto bones and advanced auto and not so pep boys have stopped selling after market light bulbs.

To be honest I want obnoxiously bright head lights. I will aim them down where they are supposed to be though cause I am not into blinding other people. This is honeslty more for safety and some cosmetic appeal.

I bought an ex girlfriend of mine some bright purple bulbs over 5 years ago and those remain the brightest I have seen and just wish I remembered who made them or what on line store I made the purchase at!
