Question 95 Eclipse....climate control backlight's

I just bought the car and i'm not real familiar with the Eclipse. The climate control knobs in the center console will not illuminate when the headlights are turned on. I have taken the vents at the top of the climate control out and the radio. I can see the top and the bottom of the switches/knobs but i cant see where any light bulbs go into it.

Whats the deal and what am i looking for??

P.S. it is all stock interior.

Hmmmm, this is a good question. Are there any other lights out? Does the climate control work? I almost guess a fuse, I've never heard of those going out.

half of the tach isnt lit either, but everything else on the instrument panel illuminates as it should. the climate control works great, a/c switch and all. if it is a fuse, where would i find it?

like i said, the Eclipse is new to me....american muscle has always been my thing, but i decided "what the hell" and bought a teenagers style vehicle. its been lowered with 17" nice rims, but i would really like to know how also to get it back to its normal highth....while it may look cool, i cant go over a single speed bump w/o scrapping something.

anyways.....one thing at a time.....interior lights. thanx.

Hmmm... well I am almost sure the guage cluster deal is just a burned out light or two, but I dont even have a clue on the AC stuff. I'll look at mine tomorrow while I am getting the dash pulled out and let you know.

Re: 95 Eclipse....climate control backlight's

You wouldn't have part of that go out if it were a fuse. On the 2G, the instrument panel, interior lights, and back lights are all on one fuse.

There's little lights inside the knobs and all that you have to pull the panel off, and then remove the circuit board (I believe) to expose the light. You can then swap them out with new ones or even replace with a resistor and some LEDs if you wanted to put some time into it.

Re: 95 Eclipse....climate control backlight's

i'm not saying your wrong, but it does seem a bit odd that every little light bulb would burn out at the same time in the climate control gauge's. it really dont look like i could take the assembly itself apart without breaking pieces of it in the process.

my fuse box on the drivers floor board is missing the cover that shows what each fuse goes to and operates. does anyone know where i can view a diagram of that?

Re: 95 Eclipse....climate control backlight's

My best guess would be to google it. I'm missing mine, but I rock a 1g anyway. I looked at my assembly today while I was ripping the dash out and I didnt see anything useful, but I did take the whole heating/AC system out and I tore up the controls pretty bad. I do, however, have a spare one and I can look at it tomorrow when I go back out to the shop.

Thumbs up Re: 95 Eclipse....climate control backlight's

found the source of no climate control illumination. "david-b" was correct. there is one single small ass bulb directly below the a/c switch connected with two red wires. this one bulb was burned out, causing no climate control illumination. it looks to be the only bulb in the entire climate control.

as for the fuse panel diagram on the floor board fuse box.....i have had no luck searching the net. i will have to purchase a Haynes manual soon.

thanx all.

Yay I win!!!! Good stuff right there.
I will take a pic of my cover and post it up for reference this week. It's somewhere in my glovebox.
