07 instrument cluster removal
My 07 suffered from alternator failure back in June with 56K miles on it. Since then I 've noticed several of the instrument panel backlights are out.
I know how to get the radio cluster out of the dash, but am wondeirng if the instrument cluster or cover comes out the same way. Anybody done this yet? Pretty much the same as the old Escorts? Thx Bill |

Re: 07 instrument cluster removal
Similar to the older Escorts. I think you also have to seperate the column cover if I am not mistaken.

Re: 07 instrument cluster removal
Johnny Mullet has you pointed in the right direction. On the older Escorts they say to take off the column covers, and then pull the steering wheel to get the lower cluster screws out. If I'm not mistaken you can take off the lower clamp on the steering column and lower it to get to those screws.

I guess I'll give it try and see what I can break.

Re: 07 instrument cluster removal
well, I got the job done with not too much damage.
![]() Much simpler than I imagined. FWIW, the local Ford dealer didn't know how to do it either. Biggest problem was the cost of the lamps, $7.20 each! I photographed the process, but am not sure how to post them on this forum. Bill |
