no where to park
hey i just found a 1975 honda CB200 for sale near me. it has like 6k miles and its only like 700 dollars and it has a 200cc motor and i might get it as my first bike. my only problem is there is no place to park it in our garage. is it ok to park it outside if i cover it up with some sort of cover? i mean not just in the rain and stuff like but it will sit out there all winter too... what should i do?

If you put it outside, especially if it's going to be on something other than concrete, it has to breathe...more people have made the mistake of parking a bike with a waterproof tarp over for a few months to find every painted or chromed surface completely pinholed with rust...
The tarp acts like a tent, and holds moisture in from the ground underneath. Humidity is very high underneath, and where the tarp contacts the bike will always be wet. I've seen people build neat simple shelters using just PVC pipe and cheap tarps to make a little soft-sided shed for the bike ...this is a great idea, I'd do it if I had to. Otherwise get a good breathable bike cover. They aren't cheap. Here's a neat site w/plans to build one. This is the general idea...

wow thats a great idea! thanks alot! this is exactally what i was hopping for in a response. and i've messed around with pvc a bit so it shouldn't be to hard. i can't wait too buy my bike and make a home for it!

If it was me, I would buy it & ride it. If you ride it regularly like I do my bikes No problems.
