First concert.

What was the first concert that you attended and the date ( if you remember it.)
I'll start.
Mine was Alabama with opening act Janie Fricke in June 1983 in Rochester NY. I won the tickets from a local radio station which included bus transportation to the concert. ( That was about the time I was going through my "country phase"

Re: First concert.

Mine was Tom Petty and the Black Crows at Blossom (Ohio). Great show! If I can remember right it rained most of the time but still a great show! Not sure when it was. Five or six years ago i suppose.

Don't be ashamed... I admit I went to a Milli Vanilli concert back in '89 I won the tickets from a local radio station. You wouldn't believe the females at that concert,( ratio of about 99.5 to .5)

Re: First concert.

Three Doors Down back in '99. I know it's not long ago but it was awesome. Started pouring though and became an all out mud battle. Best first experience!

Re: First concert.

After reading some of yours, I realized that I'm about to date myself. But, my first concert was Journey on the "Escape" tour back in 1983 in Worcester Mass. Opening act was Brian Adams ("Cuts like a knife" tour).

I know what you mean... My first concert I listed above was also in '83, before many of the members here were born .
Speaking of Journey, have you heard the new lead singer yet? If you close your eyes and listen it sounds very similar to the original singer, Steve Perry. From what I've read, he's part Filipino, I wonder if Steve Perry had visited the Philippines sometimes in the '80s and fathered a child??

Yes, I have heard him. I thought he was Filipino, not just part.

Who knows? Maybe Steve Perry did visit the Philipines.

This one was about 75% females. We had lawn seats to the right of the stage. My eyes stayed focused on the first 5 or 6 rows in front of that stage.......awesome sights there!!!! (my sister's friend no longer mattered.. )

I was gonna go to that!!!!! My "friend" f**ked me over on that! He didn't get the tickets, he thought I was going to get them. I said no, I was going to drive and buy the food/beer.....he said "I thought it was the other way around".....I got mad and just went to work instead.... I got to hear about it on "The Blitz"..("The Rock" FTL!).....I am still mad! (and I still work nights. )
