Engine Conversion

Hi im looking to build a car purely for quater mile times and was looking at seirra's to do it in i was wondering if anybody could give some advice on engine transplants as to what will fit into them without having to re-build the whole front end i have been told rover v8's are an option would love to hear from anybody who has done any large engine conversions to give me some starting ideas cheers
