01 SL2 Cant Get Ignition to work with new key

I just purchased a 01 saturn sl2 yesterday. it came with 1 key that is not original but works in the doors trunk and ignition. I went to walmart and lowes this morning trying to get them to cut extra keys, but non of them will work in the ignition. They all work fine in the trunk and door locks. Does anyone have any ideas as to what the problem would be? The good key that I am using is definately not a transponder key! Any help with this issue would be greatly appreciated.

go to a good key shop..like we got haleys around here they see safes and make key's never got a bad one from there and they are well known.

Plan on going to the locksmith on Monday. Just cant understand why they dont work! If you eyeball them, they look like perfect matches

You need to go to the dealer and have a key cut from the VIN. Bring in your registration with you. Im surprised the first copy key worked at all. A fraction of a milimeter off wont let the ignition turn.

New key at the dealer is about 30 bucks....just spend the $$$

I'll give my locksmith a shot at it, since he's a lot more convenient during the week. if he cant get it I will go to the Dealer. Thanks for the suggestion it is appreciated'

Local locksmith cut me 3 keys this morning. All work like a top @ $8.00 a piece
