Road Noise

Hello I have a 1999 Rav 4 and I get a lot of road noise when I'm driving on the highway. Sometime it is so loud that I can't enjoy my music. Can there be anything I can do to eliminate this?

Re: Road Noise

Hey, what's up. I'm new. Really new. But I've had my Rav since new from 1997. I had that same issue with the Bridgestones that I had on it. No matter how many times I checked the alignment, I'm anal like that, the readings never showed a problem that would cause the uneven wear that the tires had. I also checked the wheel balance and it too was good. I even went so far as to get the wheel force match balanced. It takes a special machine to do that kind of balancing. Not cheap either. But it did correct an unseen balance issue, though, not the eneven wear. I think that the tires, if you still have Bridgestones, are the problem. I switched from that brand and went with a generic brand that's made by Toyo tires. They are called Mirada tires. So far, it's been almost 4 years and I don't have a complaint with wear or noise. So far... Check where every thing is like I did and eliminate every thing one by one. It may take a little time and money but it will help you determine the cause. Also make sure that you don't have any issues with bearings too. You never know... I hope this helps.
