86 parisienne just died and will not start

I have a 1986 Pontiac parisienne, that has a 307 engine. My wife was driving and she stopped at the store and upon return the car would not start. It will not turn over and the lights come on in the ACC position. The battery is fully charged and I replaced the ignition switch down the side of the steering column; to no luck. Has anyone else ever had something like this happen and what else could this be? I hope I did not leave any dangling participles.

James

when the engine does not crank why replace the ignition switch....?

the starter not operating is most likely the cause of your problems 90% of the time when the lights do not dim when attempting to crank engine over...

drop starter and jump starter with jumper cables to test...or get a hammer and hit it while an assistant holds key held in crank position...
