when the engine does not crank why replace the ignition switch....?
the starter not operating is most likely the cause of your problems 90% of the time when the lights do not dim when attempting to crank engine over...
drop starter and jump starter with jumper cables to test...or get a hammer and hit it while an assistant holds key held in crank position...
