Engine tick

My 1997 cavalier 2.4L has a rapid tick/knock when idleing but when I rev up the engine it seems to go away. What could be the issue is a rod consistant where valves are inconsistant?
Thanks
Mike
P.S. I may try to get a video this weekend and try to paste link here.

Re: Engine tick

It's impossible to know without hearing it. You can use a screwdriver as a stethoscope to pinpoint where the noise is coming from.
