Rear stabilizer bar
Has anyone had this problem? The stabilizer bar mounts are totaly rusted out. Didn't even notice till started doing rear brakes. Has anyone fabricated new mounts?
This is a 95 1.0 and the motor I just had rebuilt. The front end frame is not rusted out ,neither is the rear of the car as far as important suspension parts go. The rocker panels are shot and the body is fair, good transportation.

Re: Rear stabilizer bar
My '96 has the same issue - both contacts rusted/failed.
I have not yet tried to solve it, as they are not attachment points, I am not able to do my own welding.

Re: Rear stabilizer bar
Mine broke off on the passenger side. I removed the entire swaybar said hell with it. The pre-1995 models never even had one anyway. I do not notice any difference driving with a removed swaybar compared to the already broken one.

Re: Rear stabilizer bar
I agree. Just remove the rest of it. My 89 doesn't have it at all. Unless your doing slolum racing, lighten you load and take it off. I would suggest some undercoating to keep your corrosion rate down.
