Road Atlanta Next Weekend (8, 9, 10-Aug)- anyone going?

There is a NASA event at RA next weekend. I know of two cars that will be there (one we finished today and the other should be done in the coming days).

Nope, but I'll be at Road Atlanta for the Peach State event on the 16 - 17.

Of August? Is there a consolidated calendar? For example, I didnt know enough this weekend, until a customer mentioned they were going (mainly just Friday for the tech/test session). Becoming reaquinted with his car

I didnt know about it otherwise- checked NASA and sure enough. I dont recall now, but the last I checked the RA site, this event wasnt on there.... I usually stay in dark corners hidden from the population so forgive my ignorance. Maybe local club events they dont post? Maybe this is common for all roadcourses?

I don't think that RA (or Barber either for that matter) advertise HSDE events, which is what this is.

My car is in like 8000 pieces while i catalog and sort it out, so I wont be there, not to mention I have a 2 week old baby at home as well.

But wait till you see this car done!

What a weekend! It was nice to meet a couple of you. I didnt get to spend a lot of time watching any of the events, however...

We had a bit of bad luck starting witha mishap on Friday that involved an unplanned and abrupt stop against a great deal of rubber around t7. I have pictures (before and after) but I guess I cant post them.

In all... new hood, repaired nose, new rocker panel, crush box frame, radiator, oil cooler, a-frame, upper and lower ball joint, sway bar, and TC rod (I think thats everything). We brought our elves, worked into the night and about 0200 it was basically put back together, save the nose. then the rear shock mount committed suicide- got that replaced- able to qualify, and then the final race on Sunday. The tire decided it hadnt gotten enough attention and it split apart (the rumble strip may have been a contributing factor).

Oh and btw, we did this all trackside

So... all in all.. we pulled of some miracles, and made things work. We had also had help from Winners Circle, thankfully they had the body parts we needed on hand.

Rough weekend but we took the hits as they came and dealt with it.

Naw man.... we just try to meet the needs of our customer! He was determined to race and we were determined to do what was necessary to race. You know how it is... you show up to race to sort of want to race no matter what.
