Painting Question

Hello

Today i paint with my new airbrush for the first time. I really like the airbrush i have so much more control then i would have with a spray can WHICH I REALLY LIKE . My question is, when i painted white it came out looking ruff, kind of like primer. Is the paint to thick or is something wrong with the paint?

The paint is Model Master Flat White, and my airbrush is a Badger 200 model.

Thanks for the help!

Zubski.

Re: Painting Question

Acryl, enamel, or lacquer...? Model Master makes all three.

You need to add more thinner to your mix, and possibly reduce your spraying pressure.

Re: Painting Question

Too much tinner is when the paint pools and/or runs. But when airbrushing, paint will behave best when it is thinned to just before running and pooling. You can also control running/pooling with our spraying technique- light mistcoats are better than heavy wet coats.

It just takes a bit of experimenting and experience.
