I finally finished my R-M ITR. It is definately not my best model. I started getting frustrated with it so I started to throw it together. Everything was going well, until, the spray paint, it didnt spray paint, it spit paint! So the paint looks a little crapy, with bubbles and I was so frustrated with it I didnt sand it down or anything, I just didnt care anymore. My nect model, a 2002 Honda Integra will be much much betterm with a custom body kit and all.
Enough of that. Here are the modifications on my ITR: Scratchbuilt Tach w/ shift light Scratchbuilt Intercooler Custom Body kit Custom Exhaust Now for the good part, the pics: Tell me what you think.

I think you could've spent WAY more time with the Body kit and hood. The design is ok and all, but it looks like the holes were hastily cut out. I would've taken a file to the places you cut so it looked more smooth. You can see little bits of extra plastic. The paint looks decent, but it does look like Testor. If I spent all the time on the body kit and the bad ass interior, I would've spent a little extra money on a can of Tamiya spray or went the Duplicolor Route. Don't take me wrong. The model looks absolutely great! Just trying to give some constructive critisism for next time.

Real shame about the paint etc.
IMO just put it away and bring it back out in a few months and start over again after you have done a few others. With a real good paint job this kit would look really great

Hey Pman I have been thinking about "restoring" it over the summer with better paint and hood. Thanks for the complements.

I'd definately do a restoration. Maybe just by smoothing out the burrs and stripping the paint and redoing it. I think it would look really nice with some Tamiya Pure White paint and metallic blue racing stripes. That'd be sweet, and I think it'd go really nice with the interior too. Whenever you get frustrated with a project, just put it up and work on a different one for a while. I usually have 2-3 projects going at a time. 1 main project, which is usually the one I put the most time into (Custom F-150 right now). Then, I have a second one (the duster) that I work on when I get frustrated with my main project. The duster has been in the works for half a year now...just because I only work on it when the other one pisses me off. Just take your time and be sure that in the end, you've done your best. That's all that matters.

I don't know why everyone thinks testors paint is so bad; I used it on all four of my most recent models:
and for the past 9 years. Maybe that's why, I guess I understand it's characteristics. All the models were painted at different temps, one while it was raining outside, and all have a simple coat of turtle wax to give them higher shine. Hmm, I guess we use what works the best for us. I think you are definitely taking steps in the right direction, and as mentioned earlier, when you get pissed, put the model away, and start on something else. Come back to it when you've come up with a different strategy. Remember, this is supposed to be fun!!

yea, testors paint isnt THAT bad if used correctly, but like i said it needs to be used correctly or it will be a crappy finish

Not bad, but you should have painted the window trims.
