Unhappy Gauge Help

hi i have a 1995 Lumina 3100.V6.i replaced a head gasket.today and now
My tem gauge needle stay in the red zone and the HOT light is on.the Tem needle stay in the red zone even when the car is off.please help

Sounds like the sensor wire is grounded....you pinch the wire in the head gasket, or burn it on an exhaust manifold or something?

I'm assuming the motor is not overheating, just indicating?

Well I'd suspect it got pinched then...it's easy to do. Check the wiring from the gauge sensor and make sure it didn't rub/pinch in something when it went back together...

Remember there's two temp sensors, one for the gauge, one for the ECM...
