2002 Trailblazer is at NHTSA testing facility

I have gleaned information from this site for some time but here is the first post. We sent our 2002 to a NHTSA research facility in central Ohio yesterday (7-30-2008). They are looking at the failure of the fuel lines and design of the fuel tank. I'll post anything I find out, but this came about by replying to a questionair sent out about 2 months ago. We replied that we didn't have a problem with fuel leaking at the time but when we returned from vacation this past weekend we had a MAJOR leak once the vehicle was started. I called the guy doing the research back and he said they would like to look at the failure.

Vehicle stats:
Bought new in Oct of '01
110,000 miles
Driven in N.E. Ohio (read SALT on road in winter)
Other than rotors and brakes and a corroded transmission cooler line no major problems.

As I said I'll post what I learn when we get the vehicle back next week. Hopefully I can help someone here.

Thanks
