Question Radiator cap difference

Are basically all radiator caps the same size? I need to get one since the rubber gasket on the inside is gone and wondering if they're all the same from car to car. I seen some have 1.3 bar thing or something but I just need a stocker. Thanks.

Re: Radiator cap difference

Good question, actually.

My car came with a 16lb Nissan specific cap and fits/works fine, but I'm not sure just how universal they are.

Re: Radiator cap difference

Picked up a cap from AutoZone. Seems pretty generic, just a part number on it... no vehicle specificity on packaging. Didn't have a chance to put it on to see if it fits yet but it should. Only $6.00 too, so not bad at all.

Re: Radiator cap difference

When you were at Autozone (should have went to advance to start with, lol) you should have told them what kinda car you have, so that they could get you the right cap.

Was this to me? That's what I did. But I was saying it didn't say anything about being car specific. All the caps are behind the counter

And the Autozone, as badly as they suck, and better than the Advance around here. At least they speak English.

In this case I may tend to agree, but a general rule is to know what you need before you get there.

I can't count the times part stores gave me a hard time about there not being a turbo Laser, or an AWD Laser, or when they bitched about selling me BPR7ES plugs because the computer pulled up 6s.

Ugh. Fuck a part-store lookup.
