2000 Caravan Electrical

I have a 2000 Dodge Caravan. When started the Instrument cluster lights up and shows the mileage and false tach and gas readings then they all go dead. When in power only mode withoust van running the gear indicator works as does the mileage but shuts down once van started. The panel with AC/rear wiper/temp control has no power( no lights come on whatsoever). My autodoor locks no longer lock when i hit the required speed. My remote locks work only if van is NOT running,( started it in mid January and locked it to warm up and couldnt get in). I have changed the BCM twice as well as the Instrument cluster panel and the Computer under the hood, All fuses have been check multiple times. I bought a manuel and most seem to trace a common ground (black/w light green) but it goes to the ground block panel and nothing seems amiss.

Just wanted to add that it started when the van was parked outside all day at -24c, Started fine but lost the instruments. They would come back on every so often for a week then total lose.

Sounds like a far from usual Chrysler Collision Detection (CCD) multyplex dat bus problem. Read through this thread and pay particular attention to posts #23 and 24: http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbul...ht=1996+gauges

Have you checked the black with orge tracer coming out of ignition switch. Do you have voltage out of switch in run position? Look at the wiring diagram in the online service manual.

Glad to hear you're making progress. Make sure the contacts on the connectors look good. You may just need to use a little electrical contact cleaner. FYI this is only the third time I've read of the climate control panel causing your issues. Your detailed post pointed me right to it. If you get a new panel please let us know the final results.
