Wiring help please!!!!

Hello…
I am a new owner of a 73 Beetle. The new engine has a generator on it and the previous owner had an Alternator on it so the wires are modified. I would like to go back to the Generator set up for now due to $$$. The wires are different for the Gen hook-up of course. The wires are there just some cut off. I believe there is a large red wire, a smaller red wire, a light brown wire and a blue wire in the harness.
How do these connect to the Generator?
I have a schematic but it is ambiguous and the color codes do not match my 73. I do have a regulator under the seat too.


Any guidance would be greatly appreciated…my new engine from GEX International runs great but I have no charging system at present.

You may have to "reverse engineer" the set up, since this deals mostly with Gen to Alt conversion. But you should be able to figure it out.

There is also a 'Generator to Regulator' schematic on the list too!!!

I bought a new Regulator like the picture shows just in case....
