MR2/Corolla trans. interchange?

I have a 4age out of an 88 mr2. I am putting it in a FWD vehicle, and the location of the shift levers on the trans. just won't work. (my cables would have to be 6.5 feet long) I know the corolla trans is very similar and has the levers on the other side(closer to the firewall in this case). Will this bolt directly to the 4A? Or, is there any way to keep the trans I have and swap the levers over to the other side? (it looks like there's some kind of plate on the side I need) I'm actually putting the driveline from an MR2 that had a high speed encounter with a telephone pole into a 93 saturn 2dr coupe. I've got the mounts, wiring, and DS axle done, I just don't know how I'm going to run shift cables. Any help or ideas would be appreciated. -Doug
