93 apv start problem

I have a 93 apv. shut off went back out later to start, will not turn over. Put in new battery and starter, turns very slow, and kills batterywith one start attemp (about 3-4 seconds) Battery does not drain while sitting. Van has about 250,000 miles on it and ran perfect before this. Was very well maintained. any suggestions for possible thing to check?

Thanks

Re: 93 apv start problem

I'd bring your Alternator to Autozone or what ever place like it in your area and have it tested. Also could be a bad ground. Starter might be on it's way out if you are having trouble turning over. Mind you a starter either works or it doesn't . I'd see if there is a place that can do a load test on the battery while you are cranking also. Good luck.

Re: 93 apv start problem

both the new and old starter were checked and both were good. New battery wouldn't start either. I am trying to diagnose this from 170 miles away. If I was there, I could probably figure it out. just looking for suggestions to forward to my brother. It also has the 3.1L. No wires found burnt, no fuses blown.
