McLarens - now and then

I think of this thread as the counterpart to the "Unchanged F1's" thread as well as a good supplement to the main GTR - and "fleet" threads...

To begin with, here are the two GT's which have changed since back then:

56XPGT now, then (and then again )

58F1GT now and then

There are quite some cars left which have changed there outer and/or inner appearance to make this a real good thread!
So please support it - I would be glad...

Thanks
Bjoern

WOW - that's quite an addition!
I have thought of quite some cars except for #061...

Btw: Is there a pre-HDF pic of #011?

XP3 now and then

I'm not quite sure, if there weren't further changes of XP3...

XP4 now, then (and then again )

Re: McLarens - now and then

Studio Model by MGA Developments now, then x2 (and then again x2 )

I'm not quite sure, if the actual timeline of the red and silver version is correct...

Btw:
Before the model was painted in its current yellow, it is said that the car was blue.
Though there is only a painting of it from a calendar with the real thing yet to be found.

Excellent thread BRX880.

There have been times, where I've been totally confused the color of a car when referencing chassis numbers. This thread is an excellent reference thread.

Re: McLarens - now and then

If I had the money I'd send them all back to the way they were when they left the factory.

Of course, then I'd have tonnes of McLarens so I'd probably be too overwhelmed to bother...

Btw, where is the Clinic Model? And does anyone have the latest image of it?

Thank you very much for your kind words, but without Gregs help I would have not been able to create this thread as my personal archive lacks most of the pics where you can see the cars in their original finish!

There are also a couple of cars left which belong in here, but do to the fact that there are no appropriate pics of them known in their original shape this could last some time before one can add them.

The only cars I would definitely change back to their original finish are 58F1GT and XP4...

Re: McLarens - now and then

Hmm - its hard to tell if it is the original #023 or #073...
Iirc this screenshot is from the BBC program "Dream Wheels" from Summer '99 - so it really could be both cars in terms of the timeline!

I tend to #023 juding the rims and the tone of that green.
A Rover, which I used to have, was painted in BRG. And I remember that shade to be similar than that one in the screenshot...
