Quicker starter motor

'allo everyone...been a while since I was last here, hehe.

I'm just wondering, is there a faster-spinning starter motor that would fit the '90 2.5l Duke? The OEM-speed one is sluggish, even with the charging system working right and a fully-charged battery :\

I'm not looking for something that would crank it as fast as a modern fuel-injected engine (though that'd certainly be welcome), but something at least a bit quicker would be nice.

Edit: auto transmission, by the way.

Re: Quicker starter motor

Best starter you can put on there (I have a 1989 2.5),

is the Remy "gold" unit - new, not rebuilt. (Part# 96202)

About $105 from RockAuto.com.

Re: Quicker starter motor

Alright, I'll see about ordering one up then. Hehe, glad I checked my email, was just about to go get a Duralast one.

Hadn't really expected an answer...made my afternoon. Thanks!
