OEM Keyless Entry install
Hey Guys I took apart the lower dash, and the brace under the steering column. I have found the OEM RKE box. I can see the Aux leads for wires as wells as wires already hooked up to it. I need everyones opinion on this. I dont know what would be easier. I want to install keyless entry for the 98 lumina but should i just run wires to the RKE box or just pull it out and buy another system.
Whoever has just rewired the OEM RKE box let me know. Id like to know what im getting into with wiring up the box. I would have to buy the Chevy OEM FOB since I dont have them.

Re: OEM Keyless Entry install
Sure be happy to.
The box is located directly under the steering column. I saw it when i was wiring in a switch for the trunk release. The black box has a sticker on it that says "Start disable: /keyless/ "Panic Serial # Long string of numbers. A control system. On my sedan the box is sitting on top of the steering column brace which can be removed by 4 screws. I can see all the wiring going into the box, such as Power, aux, LED theft light. Any questions regarding, let me know |

Re: OEM Keyless Entry install
No I dont think so. It looks like it once had the option but then was decided it wasnt needed so it looks like it was half a$$ put in. I mean all the wires are there, i just need to get the black box that will transmit the signal i believe for the back in the trunk. I dont know just yet.
